Arts Precinct

Imagine being able to walk to your local arts centre on the weekend. Strathnairn Arts is a not-for-profit association housed in a property dating back to the 19th century.

The centre supports local artists working in a variety of mediums and includes a café, gallery, and work spaces for artists and community groups.

Sustainability & Liveability

Ginninderry has been designed to promote healthy and active living. The street network has been built to ensure pedestrians are the priority, with well-lit walking and cycling paths and a 3m wide two-way commuter cycle path up the main boulevard.

The land is rich in Aboriginal and European history, as a future heritage precinct. Education programs are being planned to connect Aboriginal knowledge-holders with the local community and ensure history is shard in a culturally appropriate manner.

Residents will have access to several community gardens. The community has also achieved a 6-star green rating, the highest rating available under the Green Building Council of Australia’s national Green Star.

Future Plans

The master plan for Ginninderry stretches years into the future, not just up until most houses are built. It is planned to be a series of villages connected by tree-lined avenues, public transport, and local facilities. The community has been designed to accommodate a growing population, so that new schools, shops, childcare and medical centres will be built as needed in years to come.

Ginninderry will eventually consist of four suburbs to suit different budgets and lifestyles, making it accessible to everyone.

The Market Centre is planned as the social and economic hub with a town square, multi-functional spaces, and high-rise buildings. Urban Village will mix apartments, mews and terraces with cafes, parks, and playgrounds.

Village Link will be lower density than Urban Village, with townhouses, houses, parks, and playgrounds.
