An odd-shaped block doesn’t need to make building your dream home harder. In fact, there are plenty of floor plans out there for narrow, sloped, corner and non-traditional blocks, meaning you don’t have to sacrifice your vision based on the land you have.

At Achieve Homes, we pride ourselves on offering a huge range of master designs that can also be customised to your needs, that reflect a wide range of lifestyles and block shapes.

Here are five floor plans that would suit a non-conventional block of land.

Bordeaux 50

This five-bedroom, three-bathroom, two-storey home is suited to a narrow block. Its 20.8m-long floor plan features an open family, meals and kitchen area, with sitting to the rear of the ground floor overlooking a large alfresco entertaining area. A separate formal lounge provides additional space, while a cinema room is perfect for movie nights with the whole family.

Upstairs, the emphasis on space continues, with four bedrooms, including an expansive parents’ retreat featuring a double walk-in robe and ensuite. A second bathroom is perfectly placed for the remaining bedrooms, while a study provides a quiet space. The rumpus room offers yet another space for quality time with loved ones, no matter what stage of life you and your family are at.

Lima 45

This double-storey floor plan balances privacy with open-plan living areas, creating spaces for everyone. A bright and airy family living area includes a galley-style kitchen with walk-in pantry, dining area and casual lounge space. The street-facing formal lounge room is perfect for entertaining, while a guest bedroom with ensuite offers the ultimate in comfort.

The first-floor design offers individual retreats for every member of the family, starting with a large master bedroom featuring a double walk-in robe and luxurious ensuite. A second bedroom at the front of the property has its own ensuite and walk-in robe, while the remaining three bedrooms share a spacious bathroom with separate shower and bath.

Lisboa 32

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom floor plan places communal living areas to the side of the property, with a spacious open-plan living area taking centre stage. A walk-in pantry introduces ample, smart storage solutions; and a study nook and walk-in linen cupboard maximise the use of space. A formal lounge also doubles as a theatre room and overlooks an alfresco entertaining area.

Bedrooms line the other side of this floor plan, starting with a street-facing master bedroom with ensuite and walk-in robe. The remaining three bedrooms feature built-in robes for easy storage, as well as large windows for natural light and ventilation. A multi-functional children’s quarters can adapt to your family’s needs – it can be used as a play area for little ones, a teenager’s retreat, or anything in between.

Indoor and outdoor living work seamlessly together in this four-bedroom, three-bathroom floor plan. A courtyard and alfresco area surround an open-plan family living area, where an expansive walk-in pantry complements a luxurious kitchen. Two additional sitting areas at the front of the home offer flexibility for family time and entertaining, while a double garage and laundry introduce plenty of storage options.

The first floor is dominated by a parents’ retreat, situated at the rear of the home for the ultimate in privacy. A spacious ensuite is accessible via a large walk-in robe, ensuring ample storage opportunities. The remaining bedrooms continue this theme with built-in robes and large windows to allow plenty of natural light.

York 27

With nearly 190m2 of living space, this four-bedroom, single-storey floor plan prioritises opportunities for quality family time. An open-plan family area and alfresco entertaining space form the heart of the home, with space for midweek dinners, watching a movie and casual conversations around the kitchen. Separate children’s quarters and a living area mean there’s always options for what to watch so family members of every age enjoy the chance to relax.

The master suite sits at the rear for peace and quiet, with a double ensuite and walk-in robe. The remaining three bedrooms feature large windows for natural light and ventilation, while remaining conveniently located to the main bathroom.
